Recreation

Recreational paddling is a non-competitive, leisurely and accessible water activity enjoyed by paddlers of all skill levels. It involves using a canoe, kayak or paddle board to explore calm waters at a relaxed pace, focusing on fun and relaxation rather than speed or competition. Ideal for both beginners and seasoned paddlers, recreational kayaking and canoeing offer a great way to experience nature, improve fitness, and enjoy time on the water. These activities typically involve shorter trips, ranging from a few hours to a multi-day trip, and can be done solo or in groups. Saskatchewan is home to around 100,000 lakes and many rivers, making Saskatchewan the perfect province to do recreational paddling!

CKS offers Learn-to-Paddle (LTP) programs for recreational canoeing and kayaking. If you are interested in learning more about the LTP program or hosting one in your community, please reach out! Check out our LTP page.
