NAIG 2027 ANNOUNCEMENT!

The North American Indigenous Games council has recently announced that Calgary, Alberta will be the location for the next NAIG in 2027!

The goal of the North American Indigenous Games is to support Indigenous athletes in realizing the combined potential of their bodies, brains, spirits, and people. This year the Games brought together 756 Indigenous Nations to compete, celebrate, and connect through culture and sports.

Canoe Kayak at NAIG

2023

At the 2023 North American Summer Games in Halifax, Nova Scotia, the Team Saskatchewan Canoe Kayak paddlers won 32 medals (5 gold, 13 silver, 14 bronze). This contributed to Team Sask winning the entirety of NAIG 2023!

2017

In Toronto, Ontario, the 2017 NAIG was held where the Canoe Kayak team for SASK won 10 medals. This helped Team Saskatchewan take the second place finish at NAIG 2017.

2014

The 2014 North American Indigenous Games took place in Regina Saskatchewan. Team Sask took a second place overall finish with 159 medals, 50 of which were won by the canoe/kayak team!
